Microsoft has good news for Xbox One fans this week, as Xbox Live continues to expand.

In a huge boost to gaming fans everywhere, Xbox Live has been confirmed for a new range of free-to-play mobile games.

This means that you can boost your Gamerscore by unlocking Achievements without necessarily spending any cash.

Announced by Gameloft earlier this week, Xbox Live is coming to Asphalt 9: Legends, Asphalt 8: Airborne, and Dragon Mania Legends.

All three games can be download for free, although there are optional in-app purchases that you can buy.

In addition to Xbox Achievements, players of these games will also be able to view their Xbox friends list, compare leaderboard rankings and more.

"We are thrilled to be partnering up with Microsoft to bring the Xbox Live network into Gameloft’s flagship games," said Gameloft COO Baudouin Corman.

"As one of the first partners to support Xbox Live on mobile devices, we seek to provide to our community more ways to experience our games and extend their fun, while seamlessly continuing to bring console, PC and mobile together."

The only bad news is that Xbox Live intergration isn't available now, but will instead launch as part of an update later this year.

As the name suggests, Asphalt 9: Legends is an arcade racing game featuring supercars from the likes of Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini and W Motors.

"You’re free to pick the dream car you need and race across spectacular locations against rival speed machines around the world," reads the official description. "Hit the fast track and leave your limits in the dust to become a Legend of the Track!"

Dragon Mania Legends, on the other hand, lets players take care of pet dragons on a customisable island.

The news comes after Microsoft increased the price of Xbox Live Gold subscriptions.

A one month Xbox Live Gold subscription has increased from £5.99 to £6.99.

Three months of Xbox Live Gold has increased from £14.99 to £17.99, while an annual subscription is up by 25% to £49.99.

This puts the cost of Xbox Live Gold on par with a Sony PlayStation Plus subscription.
