The wait for Tom Clancy's The Division was a long one indeed, but it certainly seems to have been worth it. The game's developer, Ubisoft, revealed recently that it had sold more copies in its first 24 hours than any other game in the company's history - but now, it's also revealed that The Division has smashed a new global record.

Ubisoft announced that between both physical and digital full-game sales, it's estimated to have generated $330 million in worldwide sales in the first five days following its release, making it "the biggest first week ever for a new game franchise".

The company also revealed that "on top of record-breaking sales, player engagement is the highest ever for any Ubisoft title", with 1.2 million concurrent users during its first weekend in the hands of gamers, and over 100 million hours played in its first week.
